British teenager Ellie Ellis has become an overnight TikTok star after going viral with her first ever video on the app – and she's inspiring more young people to start posting their own videos too.
Ellie, who's going to college in September to study beauty, posted a simple four-minute "Get Ready With Me" video just a few days ago and has already gone on to gain more than 500,000 followers on her page.
Each of the videos she's posted so far has had more than two million views.
Ellie said she never thought she would get such a big response when she posted her first video: "I'm not expecting anyone to see this because I have six followers ... I'm not gonna get famous, but who cares?"
Lots of people are amazed by how fast Ellie's account is growing – saying she's their "new fave influencer" and that "we have witnessed a generational blowup".
When someone asked "why is she getting famous so quick?" one of her new fans replied saying: "She's got such a cute personality and is doing something that most of us have dreamed about like at least 10 times a day and it's just so cute seeing it work out for her."
Well-known beauty brands have been quick to notice and reach out to her. Garnier jumped into the comments on her first post offering support: "you need a PR package to get you going babes, check the DMs 💚"
Ellie has already got twice as many followers as Garnier, who posted a TikTok saying: "Ellie Ellis ran so we could walk, get us to 200k 🤪💚"
Maybelline commented on another one of Ellie’s videos: “Maybe she’s born with it… ✨ We know a Maybs girl when we see one 🤭 Check your dms 🩷”
