A realistic doorbell camera video of bunnies bouncing on a trampoline has gone viral and is making people question their ability to spot AI.
@rachelthecatlovers posted this TikTok claiming her Ring doorbell captured the bunnies in her back garden.
Her original video's had more than 200 million views and 25 million likes and been widely shared by other accounts on TikTok, X and Reddit – along with similar AI videos of bears, badgers and deers on trampolines.
"The first AI that has ever got me"
Lots of people are commenting that they didn't realise it was AI at first and how it's the first time they've ever been fooled by AI:
"This is the first AI that has ever got me ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜"
"First AI clip I fell for ðŸ˜"
"That was the ONLY AI VIDEO I so far fell for"
"I can’t be the only one that thought it was real"
"Ai is getting too real ðŸ˜"
"It was so convincing"
"A few years ago I was laughing at my mother for believing ai ðŸ˜"
"I fell for it. I feel like my mom prob does every day on Facebook"
"I'm actually no smarter than a senior citizen on FB 🥲"
"I'm getting scammed when I'm older"
"I am so embarrassed when I fall for an ai video ðŸ˜"
Reaction videos
This guy jokes that he "had to touch some grass" after falling for the video and sending it to his family group chat.
Other people are agreeing that "it was so real" and posting about how they were "genuinely blindsided" when they first saw it.
Influencer Olivia Dayton confidently showed the video to her siblings, including her younger brother who realised it was AI before she did.
A different influencer, Kate Elisabeth, says she spotted the signs it was AI: "The bunnies were jumping at the same frequency up and down. We need to be more vigilant, we're going to start getting scammed."
People have also spotted visual glitches giving away that the video is AI generated – including one of the bunnies having two heads at the beginning and another bunny disappearing halfway through.
Bunnies song by Oliver Richman
Actor and singer Oliver Richman, known as @olivesongs1, has been posting a song a day on TikTok since the start of 2024 and was quick to write a song inspired by the bunnies video. It starts with him singing, "There were bunnies that were jumping on a trampoline and I just learned that they weren't real." Fans are describing it as a "masterpiece" and saying they "unironically need the full version".
Other musicians like @sammyosmond and @erinlecount are already starting to post their own covers of the "genius" song.
And animators like @cityofgirls_cogworlds and @shanooskii have created bunny animations to go with the song.
